TRUE project PhD student Ruben Lamers-James and supervisor Dr Gabriela Jiga-Boy presented their research at the Annual Conference of the British Psychology Society Social Psychology Section at Queen's University Belfast in September 2024.
Ruben and Gabi were speakers on a panel entitled Rebuilding trust at the individual, group, and institutional levels: From trust in the era of deepfake content, to norms of trust, and collective action that boosts trust, which was chaired by Dr Mioara Cristea of Heriot Watt University.
Ruben presented a paper based on his PhD research, entitled, "The Impact of Feedback Interventions on Human Deepfake Detection and Confidence-Accuracy Judgments", while Gabi presented a paper based on her ongoing research into political trust, entitled, "Partisan cues drive pluralistic ignorance and perceptions of false polarization regarding trust and public support."
